 KC Fusion Highlights 

Congratulations to the following KC Fusion teams for their recent successes!

U15 Fusion Phillips win Border Battle
KC Fusion-Phillips U15B started the spring session off literally in perfect fashion in claiming 1st place in the 2010 Border Battle.  Fusion was 4-0-0 with 4 clean sheets on their way to winning the championship trophy.
Fusion Loridon teams are Futsal Champs

The KC Fusion Loridon U10 boys and U13 boys win their divisions in the SuperFLeague.    The U10 Boys went 7-0-1 winning 1st division.   They scored 60 goals and only allowed 17.    The U13 boys split their team with team Navy winning the red division.   They went 5-3 winning in a division that was tied by 4 teams for the top.   They scored 63 goals and only let in 19.   Way to go boys,  we are very proud of you.    We look forward to a terrifc spring season.

KC Fusion Loridon take HIT in a Shootout
KC Fusion Loridon U13 boys - Won the U13 boys Silver Division in penalty shootouts.   Both teams played a great game as it ended 1-1.   The Fusion shot 100% on their penalty kicks and ended with a 4-2 spread.   It was a great way to end the Fall season.   Way to go boys. 
U9 Knox take finalist spot at HIT
U9G KC FUSION - KNOX receive finalist trophy from HIT tourney!  Girls played great and finished in 2nd place gold division!  Way to go ladies!!!!
KC Fusion Rodriguez do great at the Midwest All Girls Tournament
This past weekend the U10 Girls KC Fusion – Rodriguez team placed Second in the Silver Division of the Toyota Midwest All Girls Tournament held at the new Overland Park Soccer Complex.  The girls went 3-0 during pool play, won in penalty kick shootouts in the semi-finals, and were finally defeated in the Championship Game.  Not bad for a new team which the majority of the players were playing recreational soccer last year.  GREAT JOB, GIRLS!!!
KC Fusion Olson win the Prison Break

The KC Fusion-Olson U14 boys won the 2009 Prison Break tourney.   We went 5-0 and outscored our opponents 19-3. We won the finals against MAC United from Colubmia, MO 1-0.

KC Fusion U-9 Girls Brockelman Wins Prison Break Tournament
Congratulations to the U9 Girls KC Fusion Brockelman team for playing up and winning the U9/10 division at the Prison Break Tournament in Leavenworth.   They went 4-0, scoring 18 goals and only allowing 1 goal.  Great job girls!!
KC Fusion U-10 Caragher Wins Heartland Midwest Classic
The KC Fusion U10 Caragher team won the innaugural Heartland Midwest Classic at the new Overland Park Soccer Complex this past weekend.  They went undefeated in pool play, 2-0-1 and beat KCFC Milan in the semi-final 5-1 and then defeated KC Select in the final 4-2.

KC Fusion Caragher win at Challenger Fall Classic
Congratulations to the U10 boys KC Fusion Caragher team for winning their division at the Challenger Fall Classic in Shawnee.    They went 2-1 in group play and won the final 1-0.    Great job boys!!
Fusion U12 Loridon take tops at Lincoln Cup
Coach Mo's U12 boys traveled to Lincoln, NE and brought home honors.  They went 4-0, scoring 18 goals and only allowing 5 goals.  All the boys played exceptionally well and were great representatives of KC Fusion.  Congratualations boys. 
U10B Maxey win at the Kaw Valley Cup
The U10 boys coached by Jon Maxey win their division at the Kaw Valley cup.   They went 4-0 in bringing home the trophey.  Way to go guys.  Great Job!
KC Fusion U10B Knox dominate in the KCI Memorial Weekend!
Congrats to a wonderful weekend boys!  They went 4-0-0, with scoring 25 goals and only allowing 5 in four games!  WOW!  Way to play gentlemen!  GO FUSION!
U14G KC Fusion - Barney wins the Just For Girls tournament
The U14G KC Fusion Barney won the Just For Girls tournament in Des Moines on 4-19-09. They came away with a record of 5-0-0 and only 1 goal allowed. Way to go ladies.
U13 Fusion Girls take Governor's Cup

These girls, coached by Nick Disidore and Jim Kerner, took this Topeka event by storm on May 2/3 as they complied an impressive tournament record of 5-0-0 to win the U13 Gold Division.  They amassed 23 goals while surrendering only 2.

Fusion Loridon sweep SuperFLeague

The KC Fusion U12 boys split their team and competed simultaneously in the Kansas City Futsal SuperFleague.   Both teams won their respective divsions,  with one squad going undefeated.   They outscored their opponents by over 70 goals in 17 games.   Congratulations boys, job well done.

 

U13 Girls win the Heritage Invitational Tournament
The U13 Girls earned the top prize in the Gold Division of the 23nd Annual “Heritage Invitational Tournament” in Olathe.  The team went undefeated allowing only 1 goal in 4 games with victories over teams from Nebraska and Iowa including a shut-out in the finals against the #1 ranked team in Iowa.  In their first season of 11v11, the team has now won two Midwest tournaments, a 3v3 event, and were a semi-finalist at the Gateway Kickoff Classic in St. Louis back in September.  Head Coach is Nick Disidore; Assistant Coach, Jim Kerner and Max Cookson, England, Trainer.
Fusion French Do well at TRYSA Coca Cola Classic
Three KC Fusion teams traveled to Emporia for the TRYSA Coca Cola Classic tourney on October 4th/5th and all returned home with tournament hardware.  Both the U11 girls’ team and U14 boys’ teams completed the weekend with 4-0-0 records in claiming the champions’ trophy.  The girls allowed only one goal and the boys were unscored on in their four games.  This was the second consecutive TRYSA first place finish for the boys’ team.  In addition, the U12 boys' teams finished in third place.  All three teams are coached by Kirk French.

The KC Fusion Loridon U12 team takes runner-up.   The boys played well all weekend and made it to the finals.  The two final teams were both undefeated and battled hard.   The fusion boys fell 2-0.
The KC Fusion Attack U9 boys team won the U9 division.   The Fusion Attack scored 26 goals and only allowed 1.  They went 4-0 and came home as Champions.  Every player on the team scored at least one goal.

It was a great weekend for both teams and all the families involved.  

U10 Girls Win Midwest Kickoff
U10 Fusion 99 and Fusion Select Girls compete at the Midwest Kickoff.
Congratulations to Mike Feldkamp and Marcel Powell’s U10 girls teams. In the U10 division of the 2008 Midwest Kickoff Classic, KC Fusion 99 won the championship with a record of 4-0-0. Mike and Marcel’s Division 2 team, KC Fusion Select, came in third place with a record of 2-1-1 and only missing second place by two points. KC Fusion Select’s only loss in the tournament was to KC Fusion 99. “They probably played their most intense game against each other!” stated coach Mike. 
 
Fusion Shock are Champs!
The KC Fusion Shock - Cleary U12 Girls are the champion of the Prison Break  Soccer Tournament on September 07, 2008.
The KC Fusion Shock finished 4-0 with a goal a differential of 13-0, with outstanding defense not allowing a goal in the Tournament.

The KC Fusion Shock - Cleary is a new Fusion team this fall started the 2008 fall season 5-0.
U13 girls win the Midwest Kickoff
Congratulations to our U13 girls team, coached by Nick Disidore and Jim Kerner, who took first place in the Gold Division of the “Midwest Kickoff Classic” in Gladstone, MO over the weekend of August 15-17, 2008.  The team allowed only one goal in 4 games.  Great job, Fusion!

Three KC Fusion teams, all coached by Kirk French, traveled to Des Moines, Iowa and all three returned home with tournament hardware. 

The U15 boys lead the way with a 4-0-0 record, allowing only one goal over the four games, and defeating a South Dakota team 2-nil in the finals match.  This was the second consecutive first place tournament finish for the U15's.  The U13 boys also went 4-0-0 and defeated a KCFC team in their finals match 3-1.  In addition, the U11 boys finished pool play undefeated but fell in the finals 4-2.  All in all a terrific trip for the KC Fusion and Coach French, compiling an 11-1-0 record over the weekend.

 

 

 

U15 French win Coca-Cola Cup
The U15 (92/93 boys) coached by Kirk French traveled to Springfield, Missouri  to participate in the Coca-Cola Friendship Cup and returned home after a weekend where they went 4-0-0 and allowed only two goals over the course of the weekend.  They defeated teams from Springfield, Columbia, Tulsa and Wichita in claiming the Champions’ trophy.
KC Fusion 96/97 Loridon
The team had a great tournament recently at the Kaw Valley Cup in Lawrence KS.   The team won their divison going 3-0  with 15 goals scored and 1 against.  Into the semi-finals where they played the hometown team.   They won 6-1 and went to the finals.   In the finals they fell 2-0.    A great tournament for the team,  the coaches and families were very proud.
KC Fusion 96/97 Von Elling

The U11 KC Fusion Von Elling teams did a great job at the recent Coca Cola tournament.    KC Fusion Blue came in first place in the divison and KC Fusion White came in tied for third.   What a terrific job by both teams.   Way to go girls.   Coach Von Elling is very proud of his players.

Wizards Walk of Champions

It was a thrilling experience for three KC Fusion teams on July 22nd, 2008 at Arrowhead stadium. Mo Loridon's 96/97 boys, Scott Hamele's 97/98 girls and Kirk French's 97/98 Boys participated in the Wizards "Walk of Champions" during the opening ceremony. Each player was escorted onto the field by the starting players of the Kansas City Wizards.

 

U13 Boys Win Coca Cola Classic
 

The KC Fusion boys U13 team traveled to Emporia, KS for the annual Fall TRYSA Coca Cola Classic.  Although they were placed in the same pool with the number one seeded (and previously unbeaten) EFC Eagles of Sedgwick County, the boys played their best soccer of the fall session; finishing the weekend 5-0-0 and beating the Eagles in pool play and again in the tourney final to bring home the Championship trophy.  The team is coached by Kirk French and Mike McCabe.

KC Fusion 92/93 French

In their first competition since tryouts, the 92/93 KC Fusion boys persevered in 100 degree heat index weather and brought home 2nd place in the Legends Invitational tournament.  Although the team was without two returning starters and playing up in the U16 division, the 13 young men that were available availed themselves well in extreme conditions.  The Fusion recorded a positive goal differential of 5-2, losing in the finals match one-nil.  The team is coached by Kirk French and Mark Kohlrus.

Patriot Cup Co-Champions
The KC Fusion 97/98 Girls team, coached by Steve Searcy and Scott Hamele, were named "Co-Champions" in the 2007 Patriot Cup Soccer Tournament in Shawnee, KS over Memorial Day Weekend.  The team was scheduled to play the FC Cheetah's in the Finals when it was cancelled due to rain.  The team included 4 guest players from our own Southwest United Soccer Recreation Club.
Dramatic Victory in Des Moines
The KC Fusion 93/94 boys team coached by Kirk French took 1st place in the Menace Midwest Invitational Soccer Tournament at the James Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines, Iowa on May 19-20, 2007.  In five games, the Fusion outscored their opponents 17-3, including three shut-outs.  The championship game, versus the #1 team in Nebraska, was tied at 2-2 after regulation and overtime.  The Fusion emerged victorious after a 3-2 PK shootout.
93/94 Boys Win Governor's Cup
The KC Fusion 93/94 boys team, coached by Win Zoellner, won the Governor's Cup in Topeka on May 12th and 13th.  After an unexpected second division seeding, the team went on to win four games, scoring a total of 12 goals while posting four shutouts for the championship.  The team also won the Rush Autumn Festival in Olathe in September and lost in the championship game of the Kaw Valley Cup in Lawrence in April.
Wizards Walk of Champions

It was a thrilling experience for two KC Fusion teams on May 5th, 2007 at Arrowhead stadium. Mo Loridon's 96/97 boys and Rob Reiman's 94/95 girls participated in the Wizards "Walk of Champions" during the opening ceremony for the match against the Columbus Crew. Each player was escorted onto the field by the starting players of the Columbus Crew and Kansas City Wizards. They stood by their supporting player through the playing of the National Anthem, and then cheered their Wizards on to a 1:0 victory as Jose Burciaga scored the go-ahead goal in the 90th minute!
